What I collect on this website
- Asking for a place: your first name and email address.
- The newsletter: your first name and email address.
That's all. I don't ask for your phone number, your address or anything about your money on this website.
Why I use it
- Asking for a place: so I can reply to you about working together. That's something you've asked me to do before we agree anything.
- The newsletter: to send you tips, because you've said yes to them. You can change your mind any time by replying "stop" to any email, and I'll take you off the list.
Who else handles it
I use a few services to run this website. They handle your details on my behalf and not for their own use.
- Formspree receives what you type into the forms and emails it to me. It may process data outside the UK.
- Railway hosts this website.
- Google Fonts supplies the lettering on these pages, so Google sees your device's internet address when a page loads.
If I move the newsletter to a mailing service, I'll name it here first.
Stored on your own device
When you send a form, a copy of what you typed is also saved in your own browser on your own device, as a backup in case the send fails. It stays on your device, and clearing your browser data removes it. This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long I keep it
- Asking for a place: if we don't go on to work together, I delete your details within twelve months.
- The newsletter: until you ask to come off the list.
- If you become a client: your engagement letter explains what I keep and for how long, because the law sets some of that for me.
Your rights
You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email hello@bepabooks.co.uk and I'll sort it.
If you're not happy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
